Welcome to the official Summer 48 page! Summer 48 is filmmaking adventure in the heart of Southern Illinois hosted by the historic Liberty Theater and Cinemaclique. Our 2023 event was a huge success. Twelve teams of filmmakers wrote, shot, and edited a complete short film over the course of a single weekend in hopes of winning a coveted "Muddy Award".
